The intent of this Directory is to provide an ever-expanding, current and comprehensive listing of accommodations suitable for those with chemical sensitivities, either while travelling or for permanent or emergency housing. The Directory includes apartments, houses, B&Bs, inns, motels and hotels. We intend to include temporary/crisis housing, hostels and campground information as we gain more information on those.

If you know of any environmentally safe(r) accommodations, please send the information in an email to MCS-CanadianOwner so that it can be added to this document.

It is our hope that this list will be of value to you in your search for a safe place to stay. Please check back often as it will be continually updated.

Special rates for patients of the Nova Scotia Environmental Health Centre. Located 10 minutes from the Nova Scotia Environmental Health Centre and 20 minutes from the Airport. Features which make it a safe, comfortable place for those with EI include: Smoke-free, scent-free and fragrance-free accommodations; No pets permitted; Large pleasantly decorated rooms with many amenities including ensuite bathrooms; Hardwood floors throughout; Scent and fragrance-free liquid soaps and shampoos available in every room; 100% Cotton towels and linens washed with fragrance-free detergent; Rooms and bathrooms cleaned with fragrance-free cleaners; Air-exchanger and Air-conditioning to provide a constant flow of clean fresh air; Hot water baseboard heating; Located on the edge of Dartmouth, away from congested areas with high traffic; Every attempt will be made to accommodate special dietary needs.
