MCS-CI-Heal This is a forum for sharing what has worked for you or people you know in healing from MCS-CI, and for asking for ideas on how to heal. All healing modalities may be shared and all MCS/CI-related symptoms may be discussed. In this forum, we recognize that we are each a mix of genetics and exposures, and that this mix is different for everyone. Some treatments work better for some than for others. Further, we recognize that the effectiveness of all treatments is dependent on our individual ability to allow healing into our bodies. We honor the fact that illness serves a purpose in our lives by providing us with challenges that prod us to learn life lessons on Schoolhouse Earth and grow in ways we might not otherwise have chosen to expand our consciousness. (See site for further details.) (Click here to join)

Sauna DetoxThe purpose of the group is to share information on using a sauna to detox our bodies. It does not matter if you use a top of the line sauna. or heaters. or infrared lights to detox. People that have CFS, MCS, ME, CFIDS, and FMS are often Chemical Sensitive as well and are welcome to join us. People with other illnesses that want to detox using saunas are also welcome. Disinissues Disability Insurance Issues The purpose of Disinissues-L is to share information and advice about the processes of applying for, appealing, and renewing Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and private long-term disability insurance. Disinissues stands for DIS-ability IN-surance ISSUES. It is targeted mainly towards those with invisible disabilities, particularly neuro-immune disorders such as CFIDS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), Fibromyalgia, R.E.D.D. (RnaseL Enzyme Dysfunction Disease), Lyme Disease, Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS), Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, M.S. (Multiple Sclerosis), Gulf War Syndrome (GWS), and Post Polio Syndrome (PPS). Disinissues is not a support group. We strongly discourage discussion of illnesses, and chitchat is totally non-existent. We are very heavily dependent on US laws in our advice and in the majority of members' experience. We do, however, have some Canadian members, and apparently much of our discussion applies to the issues in Canada. We are not a group for discussion of medical problems, nor how to live with disability. We have just one topic, and that is how to obtain and maintain disability insurance, from either Social Security or insurance companies. All messages are reviewed by the moderators before being put on the list. Discussion of personal, financial, or medical matters, including Medicare, is not permitted. (Click here to join)

GreenCanary This list is dedicated to a life free from toxic chemicals, and the health problems that they can cause. People who suffer from Environmental Illness (such as Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, or MCS) are often referred to as "canaries": like the canary in a coal mine, people with extreme chemical sensitivities provide a warning sign that the human body cannot tolerate indefinitely the toxic chemicals we have invented, and with which we have made much of our world unsafe for habitation - not only for us, but for many, perhaps most, other forms of life as well. Fish kills, mutant frogs, and human cancers all sound a warning in the voice of the canary; but, it is people with Chemical Sensitivity who are made most immediately aware of just how prevalent toxic chemicals are in our modern world. Here we can come together and share the information and experiences that have taught each of us a piece of the knowledge necessary to survive and thrive, eliminating unnecessary toxic chemicals from our lives, and replacing them with the elements of health and the alternatives offered by the natural world around us. (Click here to join)

Membership in the CreativeCanariesCommunity automatically includes membership in the network Artists with MCS.
